2014 Social Media Tricks, Tools & Trends

When it comes to covering the news, getting the visual word out, and capturing the ROI moment, social media proved itself as an influencer in paid, earned, owned, and even traditional media.

NBC’s “Today” show joined the social love club with a rebranding and reinventing this year unveiling the #orangeroom. Headed by celebrity host @CarsonDaily, the #orangeroom is a social newsroom within a traditional newsroom, it’s not only part of the physical set of the NBC morning talk show pimped out with everything from sliding high definition monitors with visual social slices of news, but it also increases the reach, power, and influence.

The Social Newsroom

As brands set the social media stage for 2014, social newsrooms are proving to be a critical tool that serve as the hub that merges traditional, digital, social and mobile news.

RebelMouse made significant strides this year and now offers small brands, domains, enterprises, and publishers a way to unleash content in a visual, social and mobile way. Founded by the former CTO of the Huffington Post Paul Berry, RebelMouse powers up a brand’s social newsrooms by curating, populating, and publishing real time news.

Brands as Publishers

The concept of brands acting as publishers becomes more of a survival tactic than a novelty in 2014. Content continues to be king, but the stakes are higher and the bar is raised for quality content.

Resources such as TekGroup and Pressfeed offer companies a content publishing solution to give brands a way to easily incorporate online newsrooms as part of a content strategy that hits all the 2014 marks of newsworthy, social, mobile, and visual.

Other bookmark and spin-worthy finds that blend the best of SEO, social media and public relations in 2014 include relationship and influence builder BuzzStream and Inkybee, a blogger outreach and relationship enhancing tool for communications and SEO pros, alike.

Fans Like Brands on Mobile

No doubt, the mobile movement is here and it’s taking up permanent residence in the marketing department. That’s why brands like the Boston Celtics made it a priority to launch the first official mobile show by an NBA team called “Home Court Advantage”, giving fans mobile access to exclusive and unique content before each game.

More Social Media Tools and Platforms for 2014 from the Experts

Rebecca Murtagh, author of “Million Dollar Websites: Build a Better Website Using Best Practices of the Web Elite”, said Hootsuite is one of her favorite social media platforms heading into 2014. Why?

“It allows marketers to easily and collaboratively drive traffic from social networks back to owned media such as the company website or blog; a best practice in getting the ROI out of social,” Murtagh said.

TheSelfie by GabbaGoods is the trending new social media tool heading into 2014 for Sarah Evans Digital Media Correspondent and creator of #journchat the first TwitterChat. It doubles as an iPhone accessory and social media conversation piece this season. She put it to Social PR work as a visual, mobile, social way to promote a public relations media tour.

“#TheSelfie was the inspiration for my recent #NYCselfietour with my client’s team,” said Evans. It worked as a means to document the tour in a fun and interactive #selfie kind of way.

Certainly one to watch in 2014 is Majestic SEO Search Explorer tool and backlink analysis toolset, according to Mel Carson, founder of Delightful Communications and co-author of “Pioneers of Digital”.

“I’m very proud to be their U.S. Ambassador and have helped them start getting into the digital PR space by showing how Majestic can be used for influencer discovery, building media lists and measuring the impact of PR campaigns,” Carson said.

If Kristi Kellogg, content associate with Bruce Clay Inc., had to choose the ultimate social media app heading into 2014, it would be Tweepi, a suite of Twitter account management tools that allow you to easily identify who’s following you. Other runners up include: TweetDeck as a dashboard; Pixlr for photo editing; Bitly for shortening URLs; and Klout for social authority measurement.

“I will continue to use all of these in 2014,” Kellogg said.

Considering all the stats pointing to video in 2014, Sarah Van Elzen, director of social media at Hanson Dodge Creative, said her 2014 social media must-have list includes any platform/app that showcases video (Vine, Instagram Video, or Snapchat video).

“Creating short, educational videos or brief, engaging videos requires creative talent and strategy,” Van Elzen said. These platforms tell stories better than a press release and encourage virality and sharing.

Facebook and CRM Connect!

Dennis Yu, BlitzMetrics CEO, likes Facebook’s custom audiences as we head into 2014. “It is a good thing that CRM and social are finally able to talk to each other and in 2014 brand should be taking advantage of this powerhouse way to email marketing with social,” Yu said.

Social Media Plugin Favorites for 2014 Hit List

WpLeadMagnet.com is a favorite of Neil Patel co-founder of Crazy Egg, Hello Bar, and KISSmetrics, because it lets you block your content and requires people to share it before they can read it.

Another favorite of Patel’s: Flare by Digital Telepathy “as it is pretty social sharing icons, unlike all of the ugly ones out there.”

Last but not least is Buffer, “because it helps you increase the chances that you’ll get more traffic from the social web,” he said.

Aaron Agius, general manager for Louder Online, agreed that wpleadmagnet.com is one of the top social sharing plugins for 2014 because “the content locker is a great way to seed the content out socially to a wide audience.”

Agius said he also loves Digg Digg (created by the Buffer team) because of the options available for the different social networks that content can be automatically shared to. He is also a big fan of Buffer, the scheduling options (being able to send messages out when your target audience is actually online and most active) and sheer number of social profiles you can connect through their app are simply awesome.

“The Buffer team is kicking massive goals online and it is for good reason. The app is amazing and used by some of the most famous Internet entrepreneurs, including Tim Ferriss,” Agius said.

When it comes getting the party started in the comments section of a blog, it’s Livefyre, said Gini Dietrich, CEO of Arment Dietrich.

“I don’t know why blogs use any other commenting platform. It is the best out there,” Dietrich said.

What’s OUT

Data is in, but it’s the right data that really matters! Low level reporting and insights are OUT. Social media plans and analytics that show business value are IN.

“Clients don’t want to see a ticker of how big their communities have grown; they need to understand the fundamental value that social media can bring,” said Van Elzen. “This means setting a baseline with clients upfront and developing strategies that speak to the company’s bottom line. It’s no longer just about having a presence with consistent posts and tweets.”

Another 2013 fizzle was the infamous “(not provided)”, the Google bomb that dropped the collective jaws of online marketers. Google taking away keyword and referral source data was the big fizzle, Yu said.

The Free Ride is Over, Social Paid is Here!

“Organic social media efforts are still in, but it looks as though social advertising will gain more traction as the ROI driver in 2014. In fact, reports recently came out that suggest it will be harder to succeed in Facebook unless you pay to play,” said Jessica Lee, founder of bizbuzzcontent.

“As Facebook continues to monetize its social platform, brands are going to have to decide if the paid model is worth the effort,” Lee said. “My guess is that Facebook is so engrained in the marketing psyche, that brands will continue to focus efforts there no matter what the cost. And this is likely true across the board with all the major social networks. Social advertising is evolving to become a standard in social engagement, even at Google+.”

Pinterest Not a Score for Everyone in 2013!

The Boston Celtics gave Pinterest a try to help the team move merchandise in 2012-13, but it didn’t prove to be effective, according to Peter Stringer, senior director of digital media.

“We don’t have the manpower to spend time and energy on platforms that don’t produce results for us,” he said. “While Pinterest may be really effective for other brands, for us it never really moved the needle. So we won’t spend much time at all with it this season.”

What’s your social media favorite for 2014? Sharing might be IN, but the stakes are higher, measures are closer, values are clearer and paying to play is part of the game.

4 Key Facebook Marketing Trends You Need To Know For 2014

The numbers are in: Facebook has built the largest and most engaged audience on the planet, according to recent research from Marin Software.
With over 1.19 billion monthly active users, most of whom log in daily, Facebook remains an incredibly important avenue for marketers.

The News Feed Has Been Adopted As a Native Ad Vehicle

Put simply, native advertising is the practice of integrating content (ads) directly and seamlessly into the user experience.
Sponsored stories in Facebook’s News Feed, for example, would be considered a native ad. On the other hand, a traditional banner ad would not be considered native advertising.
Facebook launched News Feed ads in 2012 and marketers quickly realized the potential. In fact, spending on News Feed ads increased by 140% in Q3 of 2013 (compared to Q2).
That trend is unlikely to slow any time soon and for good reason. Compared to Facebook’s right-hand sidebar (RHS) ads, News Feed ads had:

– 44x higher clickthrough rates.
– 67% lower costs per click.
– 5x higher conversion rates.
– 64% lower cost per acquisition.

Marketers who want to have the most success in 2014 should begin allocating larger portions of their ad budgets to News Feed ads.
The increased visibility and engagement drastically improves the potential for a positive ROI and justifies Facebook ad spending.

Facebook Users Have Fully Embraced Mobile

You’ve likely heard it time and again: everything is going mobile. Facebook is no exception.
Facebook recently reported 74% of users visit the platform on a mobile app and this percentage has been increasing significantly throughout 2013.

As the trend toward mobile continues, savvy Facebook marketers will need to create new strategies for targeting these different devices.
One of the more prominent strategies currently being used is splitting campaigns into mobile-only and desktop-only. Based on Marin Software’s findings, this practice increased 45% between Q2 and Q3 2013.
Similar to the relationship between News Feed ads and right-hand sidebar ads, mobile-only ads have significantly outperformed desktop-only ads. Mobile-only ads had:

– 187% higher clickthrough rate.
– 22% lower cost-per-click.

Without a doubt, those marketers who get in line with this trend toward mobile will be the most successful in 2014.

Facebook Users Buy More from Brands They’ve Engaged With

Facebook has always provided advertisers a method of getting their message in front of users based on profile information.
However, there were limitations to that if users chose not to provide information or if this information didn’t necessarily reflect on a person’s buying habits.
In the words of Marin’s researchers:
Recognizing these limitations, in 2013 Facebook expanded the ways advertisers could target users by including web browsing behavior and purchase data. The new targeting feature, called Custom Audiences, enables advertisers to easily target and retarget Facebook users not only by the type of person they are but also by the type of potential buyer they are.
The addition of Custom Audiences is perhaps the most significant change Facebook has made for advertisers. Two major benefits of using Custom Audience advertising include:
The ability to advertise to leads captured from your website. You can use email leads from your website and create a Custom Audience segment that advertises specifically to those email leads within Facebook.
The ability to retarget website visitors. Custom Audiences can be created for segments of website visitors who abandoned their purchase during specific stages of the conversion process.
This allows businesses to “recapture” likely buyers by targeting Facebook ads with discounts or offers towards them.
In addition to these benefits of Custom Audiences, the data supports their effectiveness over Category / Interest Targeting. According to Marin, the cost-per-acquisition (CPA) is 64% lower with Custom Audiences compared to Category/Interest Targeting.

Facebook Users Engage “Fresh” Ads More Often

As always, ads need to be as compelling as possible in order to garner the most attention. This is even more true today as more and more advertisers move into the Facebook platform.
To get noticed, you need variation and differentiation.
Marin researchers suggest:
When the same ads are shown to the same targets over and over, “ad fatigue” can occur – causing consumers to not only ignore your ads but become irritated by your brand.
In order to maximize clickthrough rates, ad images and copy should be refreshed “every 2-3 days and in some cases as often as every hour.”
According to Marin’s data, advertisers who use ad rotation strategies experience:

– 35% higher clickthrough rates.
– 4% higher conversion rates.
– 38% lower cost-per-click.
– 34% lower cost-per-acquisition.

Long story short: If you want to be successful with Facebook advertising, you should have a clear, formal ad rotation strategy in place.

In Summary

Many marketers may be right in their claim that Facebook is moving close to a “pay to play” model.
This doesn’t mean it’s time for a mass exodus. Facebook’s massive user base isn’t going away any time soon and, for that reason alone, marketers can’t cut loose.
Fortunately for those with an ad budget, Facebook has provided a number of very effective advertising avenues when used properly.
By following these four trends and investing in Facebook, it’s certainly possible to drive revenue at an attractive ROI in the coming year.

“Invite All” to a Facebook Page or Event

How do i send invitation to all friends to a Facebook event/page ?

Yes I know it is more time consuming task to send invitation to like a page or event on Facebook and you need more time if you have more friends. I also wasted lot of my time while sending invitations on Facebook but some of my friend has told me that we can send invitations in bulk then started researching about it on different forums and blogs and decided to write an article about it to help others. Below mention code works with new updated Facebook.

1. Go to the page or event that you admin.
2. Click on “Build Audience” and click “Invite friends”

3. Make sure you click “Search All Friends”

4. Scroll ALL the way down until names stop loading (I found it easy to click the first name and then press and hold down arrow button)

5. The CODE that you need to copy and paste on the CONSOLE tab (see instruction 6 on how to go to CONSOLE using different browsers).

javascript:var inputs = document.getElementsByClassName('uiButton _1sm'); for(var i=0; i<inputs.length;i++) { inputs[i].click(); }

6.  Paste the code and hit ENTER. Instructions for browsers:

For Chrome:

1. Press F12 on your keyboard and click the “Console” tab
2. Paste the code into the box at the bottom and press enter.

For Firefox:
1. Press CTRL + Shift + K
2. Paste the code into the box at the bottom and press enter.

For Internet Explorer:
1. Press F12 on your keyboard
2. Click the “Console” tab
7. Paste the code into the box at the bottom and press enter.

Note: For large friends list, this may utilize all your resources and will cause the page to freeze and be unresponsive. Just wait a few minutes until all the names get selected.

Top Five Social Media Channels in 2014

#5 – Pinterest

I’m listing only the best five. This doesn’t mean that Pinterest isn’t valuable. In fact, we’ve found that it’s been driving a ton of traffic to websites and quite a good amount of sales. It doesn’t work for every niche because it relies heavily of course on images. So if you niche isn’t image friendly, this may not be for you. Women seem to absolutely love this website much more than men and I found that the best things to sell are physical products. Anything that looks good that women will want to share by “pinning.” Your website link is in every pin created, so the traffic can become huge through viral sharing.

Examples of what to pin could be ecommerce products like food, cool products that are trending, and clothes just to get you thinking.

Of course, you can definitely make it work for the more boring niches if you have interesting pictures to share. Info-graphics anyone? 🙂

Thankfully, its easy to test using Google Analytics and goal conversions to see the results of any referring traffic. That we can talk about at another time!

You can see I’m pretty new to this network, but basically the idea is to get sharable images out there attached to your website to drive traffic back to sales and leads. Very simple, takes time of course to do this and we will be testing this out more in 2014.

#4 – Linked In

This website is geared towards the professional and business world. If you do any B2B or B2C, this is the place to be. If you help business owners, professionals, or self employed individuals and have products and services to sell, again, this is the place to be.

I recommend highly being active into LinkedIn groups and this is something that can be outsourced and syndicated via content from other channels such as a blog like this.

“LinkedIn may not seem as sexy as Twitter or Facebook, but with over 259,000,000 users and 2,100,000 groups, it’s a social channel that you can’t ignore.

Sure you won’t generate as much traffic from LinkedIn as you will from other social sites, but their audience tends to be businesses, which means each LinkedIn visitor is going to be worth more money.”

This bit was taken from Quick Sprout. See the info-graphic attached to this. Great stuff!

#3 – Google+

This is something new I’ve just bumped up past #4 & #5 because it now forces anyone who has gmail or youtube to have an account. So the network has really grown and I have close to 1000 people following me within just 2 months of starting. You can even send emails to your followers by selecting a circle. You need to have less than 500 people in each circle. More than that and you can’t send a direct email.

It’s very similar to Facebook except there’s no ads or advanced feature set that Facebook currently has like Open Graph.

I expect this to become a staple going forward to go alongside of Facebook, not to replace it.

#2 – Youtube

I’m now on this website an hour a day to learn, discover, and for entertainment. This is replacing TV and if you don’t have your own channel yet, get one started right now.

There’s a newsfeed just like Facebook, so the more content you post, the more people watch, comment, and share and the more organic traffic you have.

#1 – Facebook

By far, we’ve seen the best social media website for commercial sales is Facebook. The numbers don’t lie. It has the largest reach, the most traffic, the most options for marketing with free and paid traffic and its becoming more and more a place for business.

This easily wins the award for social media platform of 2013 & 2014.

I could go on forever, but I’ll keep this short. Plainly, I’ve made over $100,000 in sales for my business in 2013 just from Facebook alone. All of the social media channels combined is very little. This doesn’t mean they don’t have any value, this just means that Facebook is my primary focus. In 2014, I will be focusing more on other channels like the ones above.

BEWARE : Major Changes to FB in 2014

facebook with video

Facebook broke some news on its developers blog Thursday, noting that there will be a new Facebook ad campaign structure coming in 2014.

The social network claims that this new flow will make it easier for advertisers to organize, optimize and measure the ads’ performance by adding a third level to the campaign structure. In 2014, the structure will have levels for campaign, ad set and ad.

Here’s what Facebook wrote in the developers blog:

We’ll bring these features across all our client-facing ad interfaces in the first half of 2014 — including the Ads Create Tool, Ads Manager, Power Editor — and third-party client-facing ad interfaces built by PMDs, FBX partners and Mobile Measurement Partners. These changes won’t affect advertisers this year.

Here’s what advertisers will be able to do after the update:

  • Specify a campaign objective to make all of its ads serve that objective, and to improve optimization and reporting.
  • Use multiple ad sets, each with their own budget and schedule controls, to optimize spend and delivery within each audience segment or placement.
  • Get better control and aggregate stats, including total reach, at the campaign level.

We’ll provide additional details as we get closer to launch. Until then, please remember that these changes will not affect advertisers this year.

Facebook also announced that it is allowing advertisers to target mobile consumers with video ads. Yup, full-video commercials are coming to your Facebook app on both iPhone and Android.

They won’t be on auto-play, but video is where Facebook is heading in 2014.

What does this mean for us as marketers?

We will need to be heavy in the following in 2014:

  • Video Marketing
  • Content Marketing
  • Targeted Ad Placement

I’m already writing my business plan for 2014. The winners of 2014 online will provide real and constant value to their audiences. The losers will be stuck in the past with spam content and a short sighted mindset to running their business.

Here’s your action plan for 2014 too:

Get on the winning side for 2014 and put together a way to syndicate your content on the web as much as possible. (I’m using Jetpack with WordPress to do this automatically.)

Put together a game plan for content delivery.

Some suggestions:

  • Two blog posts per week.
  • 3 – 5 FB posts per day.
  • Two Youtube videos per week.

Start out with a simple plan and stick to it for 90 days. Then look at your results and expand it! I bet you will be surprised on how effective this is.

Use ad platforms like Facebook wisely. Use retargeting daily. Continue to build value, build a list, engage your audience and focus on great customer service and close relationships with your top customers.

WP V3.8 is Out – Are they Serious?

So, I just spent the last hour updating all of my wordpress websites.

What happened to auto-updates in the last version?

Perhaps you can fill me in below in the comments on how the auto-updates is supposed to work if it does exist!

The new version looks totally different, it’s fine and all, but I just want it to work. I found the left side menu a bit hard to use with the drop downs not really popping down for me.

I really hope the next update (which will come in another two – six weeks) can fix that and get me auto updates!

I now have two or three broken things on my 50 or so wordpress websites. Time to fix!

Be sure to backup your WordPress website before updating to the new version and updating any themes / plugins so you can quickly rollback.

Now time for a quick plug. Use our WordPress Backup Plus software. Its used on thousands of blogs around the world for automatic and instant backup / restores.

Introducing a modern new design

WordPress has gotten a facelift. 3.8 brings a fresh new look to the entire admin dashboard. Gone are overbearing gradients and dozens of shades of grey — bring on a bigger, bolder, more colorful design!

Modern aesthetic

The new WordPress dashboard has a fresh, uncluttered design that embraces clarity and simplicity.

Clean typography

The Open Sans typeface provides simple, friendly text that is optimized for both desktop and mobile viewing. It’s even open source, just like WordPress.

Refined contrast

We think beautiful design should never sacrifice legibility. With superior contrast and large, comfortable type, the new design is easy to read and a pleasure to navigate.

WordPress on every device

responsiveWe all access the internet in different ways. Smartphone, tablet, notebook, desktop — no matter what you use, WordPress will adapt and you’ll feel right at home.

High definition at high speed

WordPress is sharper than ever with new vector-based icons that scale to your screen. By ditching pixels, pages load significantly faster, too.

Admin color schemes to match your personality

WordPress just got a colorful new update. We’ve included eight new admin color schemes so you can pick the one that suits you best.

Color schemes can be previewed and changed from your Profile page.

Refined theme management

themesThe new themes screen lets you survey your themes at a glance. Or want more information? Click to discover more. Then sit back and use your keyboard’s navigation arrows to flip through every theme you’ve got.

Smoother widget experience

Drag-drag-drag. Scroll-scroll-scroll. Widget management can be complicated. With the new design, we’ve worked to streamline the widgets screen.

Have a large monitor? Multiple widget areas stack side-by-side to use the available space. Using a tablet? Just tap a widget to add it.

Twenty Fourteen, a sleek new magazine theme

Turn your blog into a magazine

Create a beautiful magazine-style site with WordPress and Twenty Fourteen. Choose a grid or a slider to display featured content on your homepage. Customize your site with three widget areas or change your layout with two page templates.

With a striking design that does not compromise our trademark simplicity, Twenty Fourteen is our most intrepid default theme yet.

3 Reasons Why Your Business May Fail

I’ve worked with thousands of businesses and have started up a handful of my own.

This is what I’ve discovered is really the reason people make their business work and why they don’t.

You need to understand and completely follow the following steps to succeed in business.

#1 – Plan to Fail

Guess what… we aren’t perfect! This means that our first business attempts will likely be awful. My first businesses ALL failed! In fact, 95% of businesses eventually go out of business.

It’s only through persistence and drive will you accept to fail and go on ahead. That’s the 5% that succeed. Those are the ones that keep pushing themselves, putting it extra time in their business when everyone else is watching TV. Those are the ones putting time in on the weekends to study up on their competition, read a good book on business, help customers out even when you are closed.

If you are spending only a couple hours / week on your business to get it started, it won’t happen.

Imagine that your business is a huge boulder and you need to roll it up a hill. This is exactly how starting a business is. Its a lot more work in the beginning to get it going, but once you reach the top, momentum kicks in and the boulder starts going all by itself down the hill without any effort.

#2 – Focus

Huh? What, sorry I was checking my email…

Well, especially with internet marketing, focus is usually a huge factor in success. If you need to work eight hours per day on the computer, how much do you actually work during that time.

Do not count attending a webinar, checking your email, going on Facebook.

Work activities are very simply : Anything activity that directly affects you increasing the sales of the business.

So, your only activity, especially early on in your business that matters is sales.

Getting on the phone, connecting with prospects, follow up, closing. These are “work” activities.

Now, think about how much time you are really working per week.

If you thought you were working 40 hours per week, you probably just realized that your real productive work time is more like 2 hours per week!

This is because as humans, we want to avoid being uncomfortable. Its more comfortable checking our email than making a sales call. How do we do the things we really don’t want to do?

Focus. You need to have your daily schedule setup with a list of things that need to get done. If you get them done early, reward yourself. If not, you need to force yourself to keep working until they are done. No excuses.

You are your own boss now. You should reward and punish yourself just the same. If you don’t, not only will your business suffer, your own happiness will suffer because you won’t have any self worth after looking back on your productivity and results in your business.

You will start doubting that you will ever have success in your business and most likely quit altogether.

So, avoid failing by focusing on the most important activities which are almost always SALES.

#3 – Capital

Most businesses don’t fail because they have a bad business model. Most just don’t have the capital to keep going even though they are literally a few days or months away from having their business really roaring.

The truth is that any start-up business needs capital and its ready and available if you know how to get it. Any true entrepreneur will tell you that you need to leverage other people’s money to have success.

Don’t let this ever happen to you as a reason your business fails. There’s so many ways to raise money for your business.

Here’s just a few ways I recommend and I personally use:

Kabbage Cash – This is free to signup. Through this link they give you a $50 Gift Card! You can get money put right into your Paypal account or Bank account directly in a day. They usually give you $1,000 – $6,000 for a 6 month loan. They do check your credit.

Paypal Bill Me Later – This is also free to use. This is similar to a credit card but you don’t have to pay a dime back for six months so its basically an interest free loan for your business that is based on your credit. They usually give you $1,000 – $6,000 for a 6 month interest free loan as well.

Credit Cards – This should be an obvious one.

Small Business Loans – These could range from $10,000 – $100,000 based on your credit and business cash flow and you would need to apply at your bank. Be aware they will run a hard check on your credit. You will get the lump sum upfront and pay it back monthly.

Bank Credit Lines – These could range from $10,000 – $100,000 based on your credit and business cash flow and you would need to apply at your bank. Be aware they will run a hard check on your credit. A credit line is just like a credit card, you have the money available when needed.

If the banks don’t want to lend you money, there’s always a way. There’s plenty of third party companies available who do want to lend you money.

You can find them yourself, but personally, I’d rather have a team of experts on my side for this as it does time skill and expertise to locate and get a loan established outside of a bank.

Check out Haweye Management for getting an unsecured business credit line of $50,000+. They will examine your credit with a soft credit check which is what you want and then explain you your options for a credit line outside of a bank without collateral.

There’s so many more ways to get funding..

  • Locating a partner with capital to invest.
  • Using your customer base to raise money by offering upsells, future products that aren’t ready yet at a discount.
  • Friends and family.
  • Pitching a venture capitalist to invest in your company. This is also called angel investing. (This is more on the last resort for funding in my opinion.)

So, when I’m offering a product or service, if someone tells me they don’t have the money to invest, I know this isn’t true. There’s always capital available if you really want it 🙂

I can’t tell you how true the statement Bolaji mentioned in the beginning of this video. Almost no one closes deals on the first contact, however, most of us give up by the second or third attempt!

Stop leaving literally tens of thousands of dollars on the table and followup on your leads!

I’ve stopped doing this and realized how many older leads I’ve had sitting around! Keep in contact because you never know when they will become paying clients.

I realized that I needed to keep calling, emailing, sending direct mail until I closed the deal or the prospect said no.

It’s important to have someone to send them however, and that’s why this is so important:
